Barbara Ramlo-Halstead, MD
is a board certified
endocrinologist at the
University of Cincinnati
School of Medicine, as
well as Drs. Ester and
George Gross Medical Director of The
Diabetes Center at UC. Dr. Ramlo-Halsted
serves as the Associate Director of their
Endocrinology Clinical Trials Unit. She is an
Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine,
Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Tammy Dimuzio,
RN, MS, CDE
Registered Nurse and
Certified Diabetes
Educator, Ms. DiMuzio
serves as the Diabetes
Education Nurse Specialist
at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical
Center. She is a member of the American
Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE),
an officer of DECA, their local chapter, and
she sits on the Board of Directors of the
Cincinnati area American Diabetes
Association.

Della Reese
SPECIAL GUEST
SPEAKER
Della Reese began
singing in church in
her hometown of
Detroit, Michigan
when she was six
years old. This early
introduction to the
world of gospel set
the stage for Dellašs music legacy that
has spanned five decades. Della is
perhaps best known for her work on the
CBS network hit ŗTouched By An Angel,˛
for which she has received an Emmy
Award nomination as well as five
consecutive NAACP Image Awards for
Outstanding Lead Actress in a Television
Drama Series.
Several years ago, Della was diagnosed
with type 2 diabetes. After working with
her health- care team, she has learned to
be stronger than diabetes by eating right,
staying active and taking medication
every day. She is now publicly revealing
her personal story with type 2 diabetes
with the hope
of educating
and motivating
others with the
disease.

Michael Bliss, PhD
Dr Bliss holds the elite rank of University Prfessor at the University of Toronto. He has written numerous prize-winning books on Canadian and medical history, iincluding "The Discovery of Insulin". For many years he has been in coonstant demand as a lecturer and speaker in North America and Europe.
