Endocrinologist, Founder and Director, Taking Control of Your Diabetes Professor of Medicine UCSD School of Medicine VA Medical Center, San Diego


Anuj Bhargava, MD,
MBA, CDE, FACP, FACE
Dr. Bhargava is an endocrinologist
at Iowa Diabetes and Endocrinology Center in Des Moines, IA. He has great passion
for diabetes and is very interested in improving
the care of patients with diabetes. He is very active in clinical diabetes research and founded the Iowa Diabetes and Endocrinology Research Center. He holds
faculty positions as Adj. Assistant Professor of
Medicine at
University of Iowa and Des Moines University.

Sue Freeman, RN,
BSN, CDE
Sue Freeman is the coordinator
of the Diabetes Education Center
at Iowa Methodist Medical
Center/Iowa Lutheran Hospital
in Des Moines, IA.
She is a certified diabetes educator (CDE) and
registered nurse (RN) and has maintained that
status since 1986. She has held many offices
for various diabetes organizations and has
been a volunteer for the American Diabetes
Association since 1986. 
Richard Carano, MD
Dr. Carano is an endocrinologist
at the McFarland
Clinic and Mary Greeley
Medical Center in Ames, IA.
In addition to giving frequent medical lectures,
Dr. Carano is a dedicated family man who,
along with his wife and four children, enjoys
youth athletics and outdoor activities.

Marcia Draheim, RN, CDE
Marcia Draheim, a registered nurse and
certified diabetes educator, is well known
throughout the national diabetes community
as a talented, inspiring and motivating health
care professional. Her talents range from her
skill in creating and customizing innovative
health education tools to her excellent public
speaking. A dedicated volunteer and leader
of the American Association of Diabetes
Educators, she will be inducted as its
National President in January, 2009. |
