TCOYD - ADA - Project Dulce Collaborate on Latino Initiative
Tome Control de su Diabetes

As some of you know, here at the TCOYD office, less than an hour from the border between Mexico and the United States, we have endeavored to bring diabetes education to the monolingual Spanish-speaking community in Southern California. This has taken shape in a number of forms. For example, we have held Spanish-language TCOYD conferences side-by-side with our large events in San Diego and Silicon Valley. With the help of fantastic volunteers, Angela Norton, CDE, Carmen Dvorak, RN, CDE, and Leonel Villa-Caballero, MD, PhD, we have launched an evening lecture series held at Sharp Chula Vista, a local hospital in a community with a large Spanish-speaking population. We are delighted to be collaborating with the San Diego area American Diabetes Association and The Whittier Institute's Project Dulce as we continue to bring high-quality diabetes educational opportunities to Spanish-speakers here in San Diego.
Muchas Gracias! Sandra Bourdette
