2nd Annual Expert Forum
Benefits TCOYD
On June 8, the second annual
diabetes forum to benefit
Taking Control of Your Diabetes
took place at the ADA's 68th
Annual Scientific Sessions in
San Francisco. Moderated by Kelly
Close of Close Concerns, the event
featured an esteemed panel of
experts from across the country
discussing the hottest developments
in diabetes research and treatments.
The panelists included Dr. Steven
Edelman, Dr. Wayman Wendell
Cheatham, Dr. James R. Gavin III,
Dr. Robert Henry, Dr. Anne Peters,
and Dr. Eugene Wright. Two hours
flew past as the panel responded to
questions from Kelly and the
audience over a slew of topics
in diabetes including: incretin
mimetics (see page 9); DPP4
inhibitors, continuous glucose
monitoring, patch pumps and
new insulin delivery methods,
and compounds in basic and
clinical research. The event raised
over $15,000 for TCOYD's patient
education programs. TCOYD is
so appreciative of Kelly Close and
her team for their tremendous help
with the event, and all the people
who came out to support TCOYD
in San Francisco.
