The Reviews are in!
Here is what the participants from Des Moines had to say about the TCOYD Conference and Health Fair last weekend

It is the best informational conference I have ever attended.

A new shot of motivation.

Very empowering.

Motivation to exercise again.

Psychologically down dealing with diabetes -this gives me a new start and more understanding on the subject.

Motivation - education - fellowship.

Humorous.

I got geared up - time to get serious.

Good speakers, good food, great people.

The lunch was delicious and healthy - great!

Well worth the 4 hour drive.

Surprised by free meters, personal testing and amazing handouts to take home.

Didn't expect so many companies or representatives of drug or insulin therapy. Doctors were informative and added humor.

It helped me support my husband in a more positive way.

Marcia Draheim was great, what an inspiration.

Products, equipment, info, all beyond what I thought was available.

Love the exercise offered.

I've been coming for three years and I learn something new each time.

I'm excited about CGM.

Excellent, understandable speakers "not over your head". Fair about type 1 vs. type 2.

Excellent organization of sessions from registration to close.

Love questions and answers to real questions.

I've learned going on insulin won't be so bad.

Refreshing to know I'm not alone.

Learned lots of information my doctor never talked to me about.

Well worth the time and money.

Refocused and re-energized desire to manage.

Lots of good information in one place.

Made me less fearful of starting insulin!

Vendors had a willingness to educate.

I thought it would be boring, but I was wrong. I really learned a lot today.

I will work on planning better meals with the help of the materials I picked up.

Has helped me be more supportive.

Easy to understand for lay-person as well as professionals!

The first year I attended my A1C was 11, three years later my A1C is 6.9. Thanks for getting me "pumped"!

Great discussions with vendors in the health fair.

Reps and faculty were very helpful and informative.

It helped me to realize that I'm not a failure and that when I felt like a failure I was more likely to give up and do nothing. I am inspired to change my behaviors.
